XM177E2 Moderator Flash Hider

This early flash hider for 5.56x45mm caliber weapons effectively reduces muzzle flash, improving shooter visibility and reducing the risk of giving away their position in low-light conditions. Originally manufactured by Colt in early 1967, this particular model was consistently utilized on the XM177E2. However, production of the Moderators by Colt ceased in the mid-1970s, following a ruling by the ATF categorizing the device as a sound “suppressor.”
